"la Poupee" (audran) Any other versions ?

Post by Gmemg » Mon Jan 21, 2019 1:17 pm

La Poupee is an operetta i find most interesting - the song " A Jovial Monk am I " is well known but as far as i can tell that is the only part that was recorded even in the 78rpm era and apart from the Edison bell Winner "selections" from la Poupee i cannot think of another recording

does anyone else know of any ?

Here's the Selections:

I have Jovial Monk by Foster Richardson and at least 4 different Dawson records of it
I'm sure there's a 12 inch selection from this on something like velvet face or one of those odd labels, maybe vocalion, I'll look into that I do have one somewhere, but perhaps I'm confused and it is just the edison bell
