record of the day for dec 16

Post by rgodridge » Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:24 pm

A few days ago I decided to do a facebook post where I pick a random record from now until new year, and just thought I'd try sharing it here, see if you guys like it, so without further a do here's today's record by Emile Grimshaw's banjo quartet
I'll try and catch you up on previous records too only 3 days worth

Audio below
Today's random record. I'm really enjoying this! picking a totally random disc from my collection and not knowing what it is until I record it. This was the first banjo record I ever got, I used to play it very often on my columbia portable gramophone especially the you and a canoe side. I'm happy to say it isn't in worse condition than when I got it, probably 12 years ago now!

What a great idea and what a great record - just the sort of thing i would have avoided in the past but , as usual, that would have been a mistake - i shall have to look out for more of this type of thing
