Itonia Sleeve

Post by Gmemg » Thu Aug 09, 2018 4:22 pm

Itonia seem to be a rather dull company, the cabinet machines i've seen are not of any technical merit and being plywood sided tend to be of no interest to collectors - Some of the portables are extremely good , solid quality and have either very unusual horn arrangements or unique and interesting soundboxes - one i had had a soundbox with a large pot metal back which contained "Louvres" So the sound from the full face of the diaphragm could be used - it was fantastic

Here's a sleeve from the Mid 1920's

Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character .Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.

Money. Greed. Naivety. Falsehoods. Exploitation. Welcome to the wonderful world of gramophones!
