Denman Exponential Horn at Science Museum

Post by Gmemg » Mon Dec 11, 2017 7:12 pm

The Science Museum have finally built a replica of the Denman Exponential Horn so famous in the 1930's - it was built in 1929 by Roderick Denman a Curator at the Science museum as a giant radio horn it's 27ft Long and 7ft wide at the front and square rather than round ( potential for a "Swiftean" argument there ) it also has reinforcing sections - how do they affect the sound ?

Experts will note the original was made of "terne Plate" or as we now know just steel ! the modern replica is made of fibreglass (how authentic)
