Post by Gmemg » Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:19 am

I have been sorting records from ,rather a cliche really but "an Old Shed" and some real gems have appeared one of which is a later HMV presssing of Herr Dr Joseph Joachim playing Brahms - originally recorded in 1903 it was later re - pressed for the HMV D series D88 originally 047905

Here's his biography

Joseph Joachim (28 June 1831 – 15 August 1907) was a Hungarian violinist, conductor, composer and teacher. A close collaborator of Johannes Brahms, he is widely regarded as one of the most significant violinists of the 19th century.

Here's the recording

Corruption in the CLPGS :
The Seven Social Sins are:
Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character .Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.

Money. Greed. Naivety. Falsehoods. Exploitation. Welcome to the wonderful world of gramophones!
