Orchorsol Sleeve

Post by Gmemg » Thu Aug 09, 2018 4:28 pm

Orchorsol are a company who's machines are highly praised by "the Gramophone" magazine and so seem sought after by EMG and other collectors - alas when they buy one they are usually very disappointed at the lacklustre performance which might have been better than the rest in 1924 but to - day isn't ! I own 3 cabinet machines (the only variation is one is Walnut and "Art Deco" , one Mahogany and vaguely Classical and the third Oak and Jacobean in style - all are identical technically and despite considerable experimentation are not great with poor Bass response - usually i just use the soundbox on something else !

here's a sleeve from c 1925

Corruption in the CLPGS :
The Seven Social Sins are:
Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character .Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.

Money. Greed. Naivety. Falsehoods. Exploitation. Welcome to the wonderful world of gramophones!
