Kathleen Ferrier - An Ordinary Diva

Post by Gmemg » Tue Dec 12, 2017 2:59 pm

I have very fixed tastes in Opera & Song, I rarely like Female singers of Opera but love the sound of female Folk singers from the 1950's & 60's !

However kathleen ferrier is an exception - her voice is Unique and memorable and it's very hard to accept that she died at 41 in 1953 as her singing seems eternal

BBC 4 have produced an excellent programme about her which is well worth watching

it's Here :

The Seven Social Sins are:
Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character .Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.

Money. Greed. Naivety. Falsehoods. Exploitation. Welcome to the wonderful world of gramophones!
