Good Gramophonic Neighbours 1920

Post by Gmemg » Sat Dec 09, 2017 7:16 pm

I have always tried to be careful when playing machines - at "The Grange" i am mostly considerate but at "The Preceptory" it doesn't matter as i have no immediate neighbours - so when building work finishes then i shall have some real recitals !

Here's a cutting from "the Soundbox" Journal of the Liverpool Gramophone Society 1920 showing one way to deal with the problem of noise - sadly from a rather gentler age

Corruption in the CLPGS :
The Seven Social Sins are:
Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character .Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.

Money. Greed. Naivety. Falsehoods. Exploitation. Welcome to the wonderful world of gramophones!
