Re: gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

I erge anyone here who has not done so, please subscribe to my youtube channel, the amount of work I will have to do and recordings I will upload will be insane, not only Stephen's but another collection I'm dealing with at the moment. Stephen wanted this stuff to be out there and by heavens it will...

Re: gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

the solicitor won't do that, it states in Stephen's will where they are to be auctioned, and I have some control over what goes to auction.

Re: gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

this is going to be a long post but read to the botom for my tribute to him, I went down there on satterday, stayed the night and came back with, well, a lot of records! I now have a key and can take what I want when I want record-wise, however most of his 78s were in his garage and that is full of ...

Re: gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

Thanks for the good wishes I will need them! At the moment it could either be that all the stuff I don't want gets auctioned in enormous lots or I store it somewhere or other, I can see there being enormous amounts of records I will have to dispose of somehow soon and will keep members here posted!

Re: gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

Update This is looking as though it could be almost prohibitively expencive to store all this, and there is a fairly small window of time involved (7 weeks or so). The auction house will not be taking any of the music and will leave it in the house. IN a way this is good, it means I don't have to de...

gmemg (aka the colonel)'s collection

I don’t really know where to start. As most of you will be aware, Stephen- AKA the EMGColonel- passed away at the beginning of this year. Within the last few days, I’ve found out that he left me a vast collection of 78s, as well as a sizeable amount of cylinders. I don’t know exactly what’s there, a...

Re: The "End" of this Board or "Shirtley Wets Himself"

Hi all, Let me just conferm the sad news that Stephen has passed away. He and I used to talk a couple of times a week at one point and he would ring me and ask the value of jazz records, I'm no expert on it but I did try! sometimes he'd ring me to see if I could guess what a record was that he'd pla...

Besie Jones a broken doll 1916 Indian hmv, amazing sound

I got some Indian pressed hmvs recently. These have an incredible sound, as they're not filled with rubbish as the English pressings are, here's one of them from 1916!

Re: "la Poupee" (audran) Any other versions ?

I have Jovial Monk by Foster Richardson and at least 4 different Dawson records of it I'm sure there's a 12 inch selection from this on something like velvet face or one of those odd labels, maybe vocalion, I'll look into that I do have one somewhere, but perhaps I'm confused and it is just the edis...
