Isn't it helpful when one collector posts a link to a "rare" volume on a message board to inform other collectors who might want such a book and alert them to where they might find one - it's heartwarming that such co - operation exists ....................... I don't think i have the foster richardson version - at least cannot recall it but cannot think of any other "Gems from" or "selections from" "la Poupee" normally there's a t least a Victor version or a Columbia but then again i might just not have found a copy

I don't know if ella Shields was the fist to sing it - i think there are many versions as i have it on a number of records which would appear earlier than this (but might not be) but my Favourite version ifs the Peter Dawson /ernest Pike version in which they actually seem to be enjoying themselves ...
